Digital Platforms Built on Axinom: on-board entertainment, infotainment, e-commerce, and connectivity services for the railway industry
Based on Axinom´s core products (Axinom CMS, Axinom DRM, Axinom VIP, Axinom CDS), customers can create an open digital platform for on-board entertainment (OBE), and offer a full range of services to their passengers such as streaming movies, magazines and music, as well as on-board shopping, promotions and advertising services.
Customers can choose to include passenger information services in their digital platform and cover passenger surveys and crew messaging services.
Designed as separate modular elements, each Axinom software can be easily integrated into existing infrastructure equipment. Each product features interoperable components that seamlessly work together to facilitate efficient on-board installation.
Extensible and adaptable built on top of Axinom´s core products are structured in a way to enable integration of other services, fulfilling future demands for features, extensions, and new possibilities.
Axinom DRM: Highly robust Digital Rights Management service
Axinom DRM is a highly robust multi digital rights management service that enables customers to leverage leading DRM technologies with ease by using a unified API. It supports Microsoft PlayReady, Google Widevine, and Apple FairPlay Streaming.
Axinom DRM can operate in the cloud, on-premises and even offline. It is the first multi-DRM product that can operate in a disconnected fashion enabling premium video on board of the vessels. Axinom DRM for offline use is built to run on low-profile hardware with low resource consumption and without any need for cooling. It enables BYOD scenarios for a wide range of consumer devices.
Supporting several DRM technologies simultaneously, customers using Axinom DRM can reach broad audiences and deliver high-quality, secure and flexible OBE services to all sorts of consumer devices, including installed on-board systems or passengers´ mobile devices.
Axinom CMS: Content Management System designed to manage all types of digital content and services
Axinom CMS is an extensible content management system designed to manage any type of digital content and services for a variety of connected and disconnected scenarios. The system can be deployed via the cloud or on-site to provide services for a wide range of online and offline consumer scenarios. Based on industry-standards, it fulfils the highest requirements regarding security and reliability.
The system is based on Axinom's innovative workflow engine, which ensures secure and scalable handling of any type of digital content and services, including movies, live streams, newspapers, music, on-board health reports, passenger and reporting data, as well as shop items, purchase orders and payments, advertisements and more.
It supports the delivery to different client platforms, including web browsers and mobile applications for smartphones and tablets using Windows, iOS, and Android.
Axinom VIP: Video Ingest and Processing
Axinom VIP is a video ingest and processing that significantly reduces technical challenges related to content preparation and distribution, and ensures compatibility and high-quality on many devices.
It was developed to enable fast and simplified packaging of premium video content for on-board entertainment systems in aircraft (IFE), trains (OBE), and buses (OBE/CES).
Axinom VIP considerably expedites content updates, leading to a faster time-to-market with reduced costs. For on-premises requirements, Axinom VIP can run offline. Cloud deployment enables virtually unlimited resources for processing digital content such as movies only when the customer really needs it, eliminating the need to pay for underused servers.
The solution covers the whole content processing workflow, focusing on security and seamless integration with content service providers (CSPs), CMS and any other component in the system, to enable a high level of automation.
Customers and service providers can integrate Axinom VIP into their existing workflows on-premises, or use cloud deployment to deliver movies faster and more easily to passengers.
By using Axinom VIP together with Axinom DRM, customers can receive faster approval from premium content providers.
Axinom CDS: Content Delivery System
Axinom CDS is a content delivery system that enables secure and robust bidirectional content synchronisation using standardised communication protocols and mediums.
The system can be leveraged in any environment with a need to transfer and synchronise content fast, securely and reliably between servers and devices.
Axinom CDS compares the content set with previous versions and delivers only the updates. This approach significantly reduces the time needed for content synchronization.
The robust solution manages all aspects of content synchronisation, including utilizing different connection methods (Wi-Fi, 3G/4G, long-term evolution (LTE), satellite networks, local area networks (LAN)), managing interruptions, prioritising important data, and controlling data transfer cost.
